My name is Rondi. I teach English, Writing and Public Speaking at the Cleveland Campuses of Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU). The classes are in the evenings, depending on when my courses are offered, that is why my evening availability is listed as by appointment. I taught fourth and fifth grade in the Akron Public Schools for ten years, before IWU. Meanwhile, I created and taught a preschool type program for a homeschool co-op and have been volunteering monthly for three years with four and five year olds. My Bachelor's Degree is in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Toledo. I have a Master's Degree in Audiology and one in Education for the Hearing Handicapped from Kent State University, where I also earned my Grades 1-8 teaching certificate. I love learning and think it should be fun. Let's see if we can make learning fun for you, too!

I am available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00-7:00, Saturday from 9:00-1:00 and 2:00-7:00 and Sunday from 12:00-7:00. When I was a teacher at a private high school in Cleveland, I taught Spanish, French, Psychology, and Advanced English Grammar and Composition. I have worked as a Spanish and French tutor, more years than not, since 1980. In that capacity I have attended to the needs of both gifted and struggling students. Also, for the past several years, I have taught one-on-one Spanish and French make-up courses for credit to students who have failed their course.

Other than tutoring, I translate literary works from Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese into English. Most of the time, I correspond with the author in his or her native language.

Whenever I travel to Europe, I go out of my way to speak the languages of the natives.

Hello everyone! My name is Kaelie Connors and I am currently a pre-school teacher at The Music Settlement in Cleveland, OH. Also, I have my bachelors degree in speech/hearing science and disability studies from Ohio State and am currently working on my M.Ed. in special education through the University of Cincinnati. I have experience working with children with and without disabilities and a strong background in American Sign Language and autism spectrum disorders. Although I work as a preschool teacher, I still understand and abide by core standards when I teach. In addition to working in a classroom, I have experience working one-on-one with students, especially those that needed behavioral therapies and support. In the future, I want to complete certification for behavior analysis, early intervention, American Sign Language interpreting, and possibly hippa-therapy. Teaching is an acquired passion that I work with on a daily basis so I am excited to be a part of this tutor website and to help students succeed from any distance :)

I grew up in New York in Harrison, a small town. My specialty is math, but I'm a quick study and have never stopped learning. I play chess and golf, and when I was younger baseball. I'm also the only person to have competed in the Ohio Chess Championship, and the Cleveland and NYC Marathons in the same year. My best feature as a teacher/tutor is that I explain difficult concepts as simply as possible. My education includes a BA from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from Cleveland State University, but I've probably learned as much through self-teaching and practice. I also play the pedal steel guitar, and am a fan of Italian opera.

Hi my name is Alec Greenfield.I spent the first part of my career as an engineer in the medical and computer graphics industries, BS Imaging Science Rochester Institute of Technology. I then spent several years writing and selling software for the computer graphics industry. What does this have to do with education? More than you might think. Working in industry, I had to teach other engineers the concepts of my discipline and then listen to them teach me concepts from their disciplines: all so that we could make the best products possible. When interviewing for a new job you were almost always asked to get up and explain a product or process you developed. The better you could explain yourself the better chance you had at getting that new job. I then went back to school for a MS in Education and spent a year teaching high school mathematics in the Syracuse New York city schools. I then spent four years working at the Tutoring and Study Center at Syracuse University teaching everything from algebra, trigonometry, statistics, calculus, differential equations and some physics, chemistry and biology. I am looking forward to working with you.

In 2008 I created an after-school tutoring program at one of the nation’s top 100 public high schools. I supervised and mentored 10-15 peer tutors while tutoring 150-200 students each week in grades 7-12. My philosophy is: Study smarter, not harder and so I weave study skills into all aspects of tutoring, while focusing my efforts on an individual’s study routine. It is key that students learn to assist themselves and transfer their knowledge from subject to subject. In addition to one-on-one tutoring, I hosted study skills seminars, as well as test and exam preparation sessions, for up to 200 people on a regular basis. I volunteer with local schools to tutor students in basic skills to assist with their performance on standardized tests. I have also worked with special needs students, those having IEP’s and 504 plans, providing one-on-one as well as classroom instruction.
